The Kesterheide is a top destination for MTB'ers, with challenging trails through forest and heath. The terrain offers a mix of technical sections, steep climbs and fast descents. The rugged, untouched nature makes it a perfect place for an adventurous ride.

Grove owned by Paul Kellens, author of historical adventure stories for youth and librarian in Herzele ("De Wattenfabriek). He initially makes it freely available to mountain bikers, but as a walker it is also nice to leave the Old Tram Track here and follow the path through the forest, of course following the owner's request to treat nature with respect and to contribute to the safety of MTB riders. Fact: "Wijmenier" is the name of an old craft: the harvesting of young willow branches (wijmen) by basket weavers.

Nice steep half pipe descent. Worth taking along

Nice location with several steep descents in single track. Nice change between the woods!

Nice single track between Denderhoutem and Haaltert which at the end connects to various forest paths that are all worthwhile. The substrate is made of plastic mats and therefore very fast. Shortcut with beautiful surroundings.

In the middle there is a kind of winding, there are many opportunities to pick up new skills with the mountain bike.
