Extremely fun flow for the mountain bikers

The trail is designed to challenge mountain bikers of all levels. The trail is naturally constructed and offers a varied terrain with several technical sections including wooded trails, muddy sections, descents, and climbs. The route winds through the wooded landscape and uses local natural features such as hills, tree roots, rocks, and loose gravel paths.

The fort is still a military domain, so unfortunately it is not accessible. It was used as an army training ground until the recent past. Recently it has been completely abandoned and bats find their home there.

The fortress was built in 1909-1912. The unreinforced concrete buildings stand on a triangular fortress island. It is a fortress of the second order with attached lapel caponiers. The access bridge and the traditore battery behind it are clearly visible and have plasterwork with blocks on the corners. During the First World War, there was no fighting at the fortress of Brasschaat. After 1918, the armament was modernized and the fortress building adapted for gas attacks. The western fortress moat has been part of the Antitankgracht since 1939. In the late 1970s, the Belgian army tried to blow up the fortress. This resulted in the destruction of the left wing of the fort.
