Nice place to start hiking trails

Very nice hike. Very beautiful landscapes and the trails are great.

Be careful, for the hike, the bridge that we were supposed to take to reach the Marie rock, is destroyed, so, we have to change our route. Even after the railway bridge, the bridge is no longer exciting.

The MTB route along the Lesse near Belvaux offers an adventurous route through dense forests, where the river flows quickly and playfully through the landscape. The path alternates between challenging sections with roots and bends and faster sections that run close to the banks, perfect for a sporty ride full of variety.

Pierre Joseph Redouté was born on July 10, 1759 and died on June 19, 1840 in Paris. Famous painter, he is indeed the most glorious child of Saint-Hubert. In July 1845, the principle of erecting a fountain with the bust of the great flower painter was adopted by the municipal authorities, but it was not until around 1868 that it was completed. In the middle of a large basin, supported by scrolled consoles, rises a massive column with panels, a stepped base and carved sides, on which the statue of Pierre-Joseph Redouté stands. On each side of this column, a mask with a lion's head lets out water. On each carving, a cross is carved in relief and on a base, which divides the basin into four, sphinxes - a kind of fantastic monster with the body of a lion and a human head - seem to watch over the bust of this famous character. On the banks of La Lomme, you will discover the rock and the mythical story of the witch Marie Gobaille. The legend of the half witch and half horse is still alive among the inhabitants of Mirwart. Every year at the beginning of spring, the witch Marie Gobaille is symbolically burned again.

Beautiful, but be careful. Bridge at this hiking highlight is broken! Cross the water at the train bridge a few hundred meters further.

This segment offers beautiful views of the Famenne. You will also walk along a historical route from the period of the 17th century witch hunt.
