Perfect for a mid-November visit, as I did today. The lake is frozen and magnificent to see. It's a short drive from San Giuseppe—it took me an hour and a quarter—but there's ice in some spots, and it's quite cold, being on the dark side. But it's worth it.

The waterfalls of the Fellaria Glacier offer one of the most evocative natural spectacles in the Valtellina Rhaetian Alps. Located in Valmalenco, they can be reached via a beautiful hike starting from the Roberto Bignami Refuge towards the Eastern Fellaria Glacier. A charming alpine lake with turquoise waters, nestled in a valley surrounded by hills, with a beautiful view all around. It can be reached from San Giuseppe (1h30min from signs) and from other itineraries in Valmalenco. The path from San Giuseppe has some steep and wet sections, especially during the thaw: comfortable footwear suitable for the terrain is recommended.
