Situated on the western shore of Lake Maggiore, above Cannobio and Cannero Rivera, Monte Carza (1,116 metres above sea level) offers an incredible panoramic view from its summit, marked by an iron cross that stands in a small clearing.

Awesome view, fun BIG Bench

A little hint: I rode during summer time (July 2023) and the trees all have their leaves. Hence you see a lot of trees but the view on the sea and to the towns and shore line is marginal / hidden. Nevertheless, nice training with MTB road upwards with lot of gravel / stones.

Exciting descent of the Monte Lena III route of the Macantone /Ticino homepage. First through meadows with a great panorama and a furrowed path, then more winding and rocky into the forest, in the forest sometimes quite steep with roots, stones and worn-out earth. Overall cool, varied, demanding descent, almost continuously S2.

Very characteristic and panoramic stone path. Potentially slippery.

For Mountain Bikes and only for Mountainbikes. Don't try with a gravel, trekking or touring bike. There are roots and stones on the way that require the real stuff. But it is pleasant as there are only very small inclinations, the route is mostly in the shades of the woods that stand near the Tresa river and there are many places that invite for a break and tangle your feet in the water. clear signage - small parts on the main road (bridges)

Beautiful trail along the river Tresa, the border Switzerland / Italy runs parallel to it.
