サンドルリーゴデラヴァッレ/ドリナの天然記念物・トップ20

トリエステのすぐ裏手に位置するヴァル・ロサンドラは、その名の川がトリエステ・カルストの唯一の深い谷を刻んだユニークな自然保護区です。景観は、険しい石灰岩の壁、白い砂利、地中海と大陸の種が融合した植生に彩られています。高さ36メートルの滝で有名なこの谷は、生物多様性と歴史の聖域であり、紀元1世紀のローマ水道橋の遺跡と、サンタ・マリア・イン・シアリスの非常に古い小さな教会があります。トリエステのアルピニズムの聖地であり、その断崖はエミリオ・コミチの学校でした。険しい小道と湾の景色を眺めながら、ヴァル・ロサンドラは、カルスト台地とアドリア海に挟まれた、荒々しい自然と千年の証の凝縮された場所です。

The Oak is evocative in every season

Napoleon's Oak. The name seems to derive from the fact that it was used by French soldiers to tie their horses to (which is at least plausible, considering that the tree is certainly centuries old). According to another legend, less plausible, Napoleon Bonaparte himself stopped to rest in its shade (but in the last century throughout Europe there was an inflation of houses, hotels, castles and convents in which it was claimed that Napoleon would have stopped to sleep... a number so high as to be unlikely, and probably the result above all only of popular rumours).

One of the most popular places for trekking enthusiasts in Trieste. It offers numerous routes to reach the waterfall of over 40 m, the heart of the valley, of different lengths and difficulties, from the "Sentiero dell'Amicizia" to the more complex "Via delle Acque"
