Along the coastal road, you can admire both the beaches of Catania and Mount Etna. At 3,403 meters high, the volcano is particularly spectacular when the summit craters are covered in snow.

I had this beautiful vision while walking along the old tuna fishery of Santa Panagia, early in the morning...

The vegetation of the final stretch of the river is essentially made up of marsh reeds and bushes of tamarisk and samphire among which a great variety and quantity of birds find shelter. The right bank of the Simeto river features pine and eucalyptus groves up to the Gornalunga lake area.

There are many semi-wild pigs here. You can watch them well. Keep your distance, especially if you have babies.

A little further downstream there is an old mill. Picnic area right at the waterfall.

To reach the waterfall, follow the path of about 1 km well marked by signs. The last section of the trail consists of stairs and is therefore only accessible to hikers

Lake Lentini, or biviere di Lentini, is located in the province of Syracuse, in Sicily. According to legend, it was created by the hero Hercules, while some believe it was the work of the Templars in the 12th century. Dried up in the 20th century, it was later rebuilt in the 1970s. Today it is an oasis for migratory birds and nesting species.
