Belvedere dell’Albero di Ciccio – Panorama of the Gulf and Vesuvius A breathtaking point where the view embraces the entire Gulf of Castellammare, Vesuvius and the valleys below. Here stands a majestic centuries-old oak tree, known as “L’Albero di Ciccio”, dedicated to Professor Francesco Di Pace, a beloved and esteemed figure for his commitment to protecting the territory and local memory. Next to the tree, a plaque commemorates his thought and vision. An ideal place for a silent stop, a photo and a thought.

As a patron saint, this hermitage has a name that is on everyone's lips, but probably only a few people will know the person behind it: the feast day of Saint Silvestro is on December 31st. He lived at the end of the third and beginning of the fourth century and was bishop of Rome when Emperor Constantine - later generations gave him the nickname "the Great" - recognized Christianity as a religion with the so-called "Edict of Tolerance" of Milan, and thus - at least temporarily - the period of bloody persecution of Christians ended.

From here, take the CAI 115 path to reach Pizzo San Michele. There is a fairly bumpy paved road that allows you to reach the place, with an open space for parking

An exceptional construction adjacent to a rock, which makes this hermitage unique.

Campo Maggiore is a spectacular plateau where there is a small lake usually dry in the warmer months.... At the ends, two closed shelters. There are also picnic areas with braziers on the road that runs along the expanse.

Pizzo San Michele, on the Salerno side, can be reached by starting from Calvanico village or by reaching the locality of "Acqua Carpegna" near Casone De Fazio by car. Here there is ample space to park cars.
