プルフェロからのマタジュルへの挑戦的な登りは、舗装されたアスファルト道路を通ります。樹林帯を越えるため、特に暖かい夏の日はやや骨が折れます。 メルシオンからモンテマッジョーレへのルートは、一定の登りとサドルを越えて進みます。サドルを越えると、モンテマッジョーレへ少し下ります。この区間は日陰でアスファルトが荒れているため、わだちや穴を常に避けなければなりません。ここでは左側を維持する方が良いでしょう。道路は基本的に閉鎖されており、作業が行われていない場合にいつでも再開されます。 ヒント：モンテマッジョーレでは、登り口に給水所があり、水筒に水を補充できます。

Directions to the Cima di San Martino

Near the Solarie Pass border crossing, at an altitude of 960 meters, stands this stele commemorating Riccardo Giusto. He is considered the first of approximately 650,000 Italian soldiers to die during the First World War.

A saddle with a pleasant clearing, as you cycle through the forest on both sides. There's also a very well-preserved and well-maintained wayside shrine at saddle height. An ideal place for a short break.

A former ITA/SLO border crossing which impresses with the fact that the border buildings of both countries are very well preserved, as is the border bridge in immaculate condition.
