Legend has it that an eight-year-old deaf-mute boy, Abel, wandered away from home before 1687 and got lost in the swamps of the area. He was searched in vain, unable to hear the calls, he spent the night outside. The next day he was able to hear the calls and spoke, no longer being deaf or mute. He said he had spent the night in the company of a peasant woman who had made a fountain flow to quench his thirst. After this miracle, devotion to the Madonna delle Fontane began.

It takes its name from the Cumignano Social Promotion Association "La Libellula" which received the space in concession from the Consorzio Incremento Irrigazioni Cremonesi. It includes the area around the Gorgo della Ghiacciaia, a widening of the Naviglio Nuovo Pallavicino just before it flows into the Naviglio Grande Pallavicino, with an adjoining waterfall. It is an area equipped with tables, chairs and benches in the shade of various plants. All the greenery is looked after by the members. There is also a non-drinking water fountain which can still be useful for cooling off. A very pleasant stop
