These imposing and very remarkable erosion phenomena in the form of channels are typical of the Mediterranean climate, when very specific climatic conditions and subsurface conditions come together, in which only part of the ground can be eroded by precipitation. They are located in the middle of the "Riserva Naturale dei Calanchi di Atri".
