Near Mahlendorf, an incredibly atmospheric linden avenue leads into total solitude and to the viewpoint with its giant stone. Unfortunately, much of the lake is obscured from here due to the tall trees. The "loop," a very poor "path," does get you a little closer to the lake, but it's not fun. This detour is absolutely not recommended for cyclists. Problem: At the viewpoint, there's no easily walkable path down to the lake, but you can guess that there's a shoreline with plenty of space in front of it. So, I suspect there's a really nice swimming spot down below! But you'd probably better save yourself the dangerous effort of tackling this overgrown embankment or taking another detour!

Very nice road, actually only through the forest. But very narrow with vehicle traffic, so be careful!

Very nice hiking section. Even when the water level is higher, going down the creek in a canoe is no longer an option.

A classic beaver dam. It is very unlikely that the Küstrienbach will ever again be navigable for water hikers between Küstrinchen and the purgatory lock.
