Historical crossing from Bern to Valais. Before the path to the actual Gemmi, with its many artificial structures, was built, the old Gemmi served as an important crossing that was even used for cattle driving and trade. Wonderful mountain hiking trail.

The road is very narrow in the upper part, making it difficult for larger cars to overtake safely, but they still do. Otherwise quite a tough climb with great views in the upper part. However, the descent is more strenuous than fun because of the partly bad road, the narrowness and the lack of clarity.
