Tamina Gorge near Old Bad Pfäfers - 36.5°C, 8,000 liters per minute. Source of our thermal water The Tamina spring is not only the namesake of our thermal spa, but also the source of our healing spring water. Europe's most abundant thermal spring rises in the Tamina Gorge near Bad Ragaz and was discovered in the early Middle Ages (in 1242). Mysterious Tamina Gorge In the Tamina Gorge between Valens and the hamlet of Bonadivis, the water of the Tamina River carves its way up to 200 meters into the earth. The narrow rock crevice of the Tamina Gorge is approximately 750 meters long and 70 meters deep. Near Old Bad Pfäfers, the gorge widens, and a road now connects Old Bad Pfäfers with the town of Bad Ragaz. Deep within the mystical Tamina Gorge beats its heart: the inexhaustible spring from which healing, body-temperature thermal water has bubbled for centuries. Among others, the physician and alchemist Paracelsus praised the healing properties of the spring water in the 16th century, which is considered an acratotherm due to its low mineral content and temperature of 36.5°C. The Lünersee was once a natural mountain lake. The construction of a dam in 1959 transformed it into a reservoir with a capacity of 78.3 million m3. When full, the lake is 139 m deep. The circular trail around the lake is largely family-friendly and easy to walk.

A very popular peak, which appears invincible from afar, but loses some of its "terror" with every meter you approach. The sensational view is a reward for every single drop of sweat.

Fantastic view and the highest mountain in the Rätikon. Best and ideally climbed during the weekdays and outside of the holiday season to enjoy the peace and quiet.

10月 17, 2022, Saulakopf Summit (2,498 m)
The path to the Saulakopf is marked blue/white and requires sure-footedness and a head for heights. Initially, the path leads up in serpentines on gravel-like ground, later 3 to 4 rope-secured places follow and the terrain becomes much rockier. In the upper part, the tracks are no longer very clear and the markings are a bit confusing, but still not a problem and wonderfully rocky. Yes, and the views from the summit are simply beautiful!!! A very worthwhile summit!

Ascent via the normal path or the via ferrata possible. Both variants are quite demanding. No problem for experienced alpinists. Once at the top, the panorama is magnificent.

Only for the experienced. Climbing before the summit and due to the steep terrain you need good physical condition. Not to be neglected.

Ascent initially over loose scree/gravel and then over rocky terrain. Several small scrambles and two rope-secured passages have to be mastered. Sure-footedness, a head for heights and good shoes are essential!

7月 2, 2022, Schesaplana Summit
We started our tour to climb the Schesaplana at the Douglasshütte, which is easily accessible via the Lünerseebahn. The first part of the route leads through cozy greenery past the Lünersee. The route continued towards the Totalphütte. Here the climb was more challenging but for us guys with average fitness it was definitely doable without any problems. The paths are also well signposted and labeled. The path between Totalphütte and Schesaplana is quite challenging and (according to the route recording) has a gradient of around 28% in the last third. Tips: Take good shoes and enough to drink with you and reward yourself on the descent with a cool drink and delicious food in the Totalphütte 🍻

Very nice T3 ascent to the Schesaplana from the Totalphütte! There are a few challenging passages! In June this year, there were only a few snowfields and the way up was quite doable.

The Schesaplana is an easy-to-reach summit as long as there is less than 30 cm of snow. It offers a wonderful view of Säntis and Lake Constance, the Lünersee, the Brandner Glacier, the Brandner Valley, the Zugspitze, the Bernina massif and the Appenzell region. The border between Austria and Switzerland runs over its summit. From the Brandner Valley, the summit can easily be climbed in one day via the Lünersee. If you want to save your fitness, take the train to the Lünersee and save yourself the first 400 meters of altitude.
