The Vado di Cornillo, also known as Mapasso, is located at an altitude of 1,325 meters above sea level. A truly particular Apennine mountain pass: large high-altitude meadows alternate with patches of fir forest. An ideal place for a cool summer picnic. Various paths start from here, also suitable for families.

Pass along the mountain road that connects the towns of Contigliano and Cottanello. Various excursions both on foot and by mountain bike start from here.

Located at 1890 meters above sea level, the Sella di Leonessa is an Apennine pass near the summit of Monte Terminillo. From here the view of the rock face of the mountain is impressive. Nearby and easily accessible is the Rifugio Sebastiani, the starting point for excursions in the Reatini Mountains.

One of the most beautiful roads between Lazio and Abruzzo. The Amiternina provincial road begins from the shores of the Salto lake near Fiumata and climbs to the 1350 meters of Forca di Castiglione, passing through narrow gorges and wide plateaus in the heart of the Cicolano Mountains on the Lazio side, to descend steeply towards Tornimparte on the Abruzzo side .

Leaving Leonessa along the old disused road, you can admire the old nineteenth-century boundary stones between the Kingdom of Naples and the State of the Church.
