The Salbithütte is a Swiss Alpine Club (SAC) mountain hut located at 2,105 metres above sea level in the Göscheneralptal in the canton of Uri. Built in 1931 and subsequently expanded, it offers 58 beds and is open from mid-June to mid-October. The hut is an ideal starting point for hikers and mountaineers, thanks to the sharp ridges, mighty towers and granite slabs around the Salbitschijen. A notable attraction is the Salbitbrücke, a 90-metre-long suspension bridge, which connects the Salbithütte to the Voralphütte, offering a unique experience for experienced hikers and those free from vertigo.

The new chapel "Maria, Queen of Angels" on Tannalp was inaugurated in 1959. The work was completed through forced labor and donations. Chapels on Melchsee-Frutt Centuries ago people thought about building a chapel on the Melchsee-Frutt. A big question in the past was always where a chapel should be: in the middle of the Frutt, where this chapel is now, or further, towards the Tannalp or even closer to the ascent, in the Aalpen. The Aelpler found it difficult to decide. Pastor Franz Meinrad Anderhalden (pastor in Kerns from 1731 - 1788) found the right solution: in 1775 he built three chapels, the successor buildings of which we can still see today. All three have already been rebuilt a second time. The owner of these chapels is the community of Kerns. The parish of Melchtal takes on the pastoral care of the high alpine chapels. Nice shelter from the rain

This is the place in Switzerland that I visit most often. Modest but good rooms, excellent food. And that for more than 10 years. In winter, the sun lasts much longer than in Melchsee-Frutt. And it's quieter here because the ski areas are near Melchsee-Frutt, or on top of the Bonistock.
