If you're already in the area, you should definitely come here. An idyllic spot not far from civilization. Wagenmoosweiher is an artificially created lake in the Meggerwald forest, within the municipality of Udligenswil in the canton of Lucerne. It's located in a forest clearing at an altitude of 597 meters above sea level. The lake is surrounded by reeds. On the western shore of Wagenmoosweiher, you'll find a lovely picnic area with a barbecue and a water fountain.

The pond lies in the heart of the Lower Forest nature reserve, surrounded by various fens. While he was busy felling trees, a boy came to him and asked Medardus to take two tree trunks on his shoulders and follow him. After a four-hour hike, the two arrived at a hill near Root. There, the boy asked the hermit to build a cross from the two trunks. With the words: 'I am the Archangel Michael, sent by my Lord Jesus Christ to mark and consecrate this place with the sign of the holy cross,' the boy took on the form of the Archangel Michael. Since then, the hill on which the chapel stands today has been called Michael's Cross.
