The mountain hut is located at an elevation of 320 meters and is reached via a steep trail. It offers beautiful views of the valley. Unfortunately, the Briksdal Glacier is largely obscured by trees.

A shelter with a large table, fireplace, swings, slacklines and "toilet". The ascent corresponds to Norwegian conditions and is therefore demanding for us "southerners".

A beautiful, sheltered (ideally sunny) place to rest with a breathtaking view over the Jolstravatnet.

The cabin is quite large. You can go in anytime, but you have to take off your shoes. Large windows face south, east, and west. Inside, there are comfortable benches. A stove can be used for heating. Outside, there are large wooden steps from which you can enjoy the view of the valley.

The old metallurgical plant Tungestølen was destroyed in 2011 by a storm to the ground. In 2015, the architectural firm Snøhetta and the DNT submitted plans for the rebuilding (see https://nb-no.facebook.com/www.nyetungestolen.no/), which will be implemented in 2018. After completion of the cabin complex, you can spend the night in modern cabins in Scandinavian design in the middle of one of Norway's wildest romantic areas.
