素晴らしいラグーンの風景を通る美しいサイクリングルート。

Panagia Finikias教会（ギリシャ語：Παναγία Φοινικιά）は、メソロンギとアイトリコスのラグーンの中央にある、小さく絵のように美しい半島、またはかつての小島に位置しています。 石造りの単身廊聖堂は1804年に建てられ、一時的に小さな修道院として使用されていました。糸杉とユーカリの木々に囲まれたこの礼拝堂は、歴史的にメソロンギ滞在中の有名な英国の詩人ロード・バイロンが好んで隠遁した場所でした。彼はそこで絶対的な静寂と絵のような景色を瞑想のために高く評価していました。 メソロンギの広大な平坦な塩田の地域に直接位置しています。風のない日には、建物が滑らかな水面に壮大に映し出されます。教会は現在、細い地峡/道路を通って徒歩または自転車で簡単にアクセスできます。

There is a small spring adjacent to the chapel. It is surrounded by a wall that is perfect for protection from the wind, making it a very good bivouac spot. There is even a table with stone benches.

Phinikia is a small, picturesque island on the edge of the saltworks between Messolonghi and Aetolikon. On the island stands a small 18th-century church dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The island was a favorite stop of the Romantic poet Lord Byron during his stay in Messolonghi. Phinikia is a truly interesting place to admire the lagoon and the local saltworks. If you're lucky, you might even spot swans and flamingos, which come to the lagoon once a year. The sunset at the site is amazing. In summer, you'll likely see people taking medicinal baths in the warm waters of the salty lagoon.

We were guided to this road, which is white on the maps, via komoot. Google Street View is not available. It consists of field and gravel paths. Some parts are rocky and coarse gravel (see photo). Not really suitable for road bikes, but gravel-friendly in parts.

100% true..... wonderful route with great views and very little traffic. It's a great way to cycle.
