734m altitude. Also known as Pico do Barrete. It is located 15 km from the municipal seat of Vila Verde. This mountain is home to the source of the Vade River and some prehistoric archaeological sites. The highest point of this mountain is at Penedos Mourinhos, a natural viewpoint overlooking the Baixo Minho and the Homem River valley. The PR2 - Fojo do Lobo Trail (VVD) passes through this location. Near this viewpoint is a lookout post and a paragliding launch site.

Record of its presence next to this unusual chapel, which replaced an older and completely ruined one, located near the geodetic marker (about 200 meters to the east). Monte de São Gonçalo, at 489 meters above sea level, is the highest point in the municipality of Barcelos.

Legend has it that Serra da Cabreira owes its name to a young and beautiful goatherd who used to tend her flock there: "(...) And the people wanted to perpetuate forever, with all justice, the shepherd girl's unhappy love. Therefore, they named the mountain where she had experienced her great passion Serra da Cabreira, and since she wanted to be a bird and fly, she began to call the river in Vila do Conde the Ave River...". This hilltop sanctuary (410 m) may not be as old, nor as well-known as its venerable neighbours of Bom Jesus and Penha but it's well worth visiting for the magnificent views over the Vizela river valley. Of the two chapels, the smaller one has a longer history, stretching as far back as C14 but it was heavily restored in C19. The larger chapel was consecrated in 1971. The climb from Vizela town (São Bento/St. Benedict being its patron saint) is a little over 3 km long and averages 9,2%. The top is paved with concrete so it's okay even for more delicate road bikes.

The summit of Alto da Amoreira is located at an altitude of 1,463 meters, in the south of the province of Orense, in the Serra do Xurés. Its location on the same border line between Galicia and Portugal allows you to enjoy magnificent views. At the top, the shape adopted by the granite rocks that come from the glaciers of the Ice Age stands out.
