A green oasis in the middle of the hectic capital.

Lake Liqeni i Tiranës was built in 1955 through volunteer work, using several water streams in the area. It is located in a park built on a green area where the animals of the Vlach families of Tirana used to grazed. In 1957, architect Valentina Pistoli provided the ideas for the entire lake-mound complex and the artworks inside it. The project was pursued in 1961 by a group of Bulgarian engineers led by architect Zheko Zhikov. Source: Wikipedia
