Below the mound of leaves there are deeply cut passages. A very interesting terrain, through which the Geologieweg themed hiking trail also leads. After heavy rainfall, hikers should take into account that this section can be very muddy.

Area closed - still worth seeing - biotope

The location The Muschelkalkbruch is located near Hausen, about 4.5 km north of the village Schonungen and about 5 km east of the city Schweinfurt in the district Schweinfurt, Regierungsbezirk Unterfranken. The area belongs to the natural area "Hesselbacher Bergland" and borders directly with the nature reserve "Hausener Tal" with the "Ottenhäuser Grund" and the "Hesselbacher Grund". Therefore, the connection to similar habitats (semi-dry grasslands, smaller old mining sites, Wollenbachtal) is very good. Another value-determining advantage for the location is the seclusion of the location surrounded by mixed deciduous forest stands, far away from roads, buildings etc. Geologically belongs the area to the Bavarian stratified stage country - in the transition from the upper Muschelkalk to the lower Keuper.
