The quarry pond is fed by a small inflow that dries up just before the lake. After gravel mining ended, it was used for fish farming. With the Seepark Thürnthal project, the neighboring properties around the lake were developed for private residential development in the 2000s. All of the shores are privately owned, which means that the lake has not been open to the public since then.

The 5 hectare natural bathing lake is the ideal destination for families, amateur athletes and connoisseurs. The extensive, 30 hectare recreation park impresses with its diverse uses for bathing fun, sports and relaxation. The day ticket currently costs € 7.90 for adults. The Danube cycle path and, more recently, a variant of the garden cycle tour pass here, nice to take a break.

Right at the entrance to the Tulln Garden you can always admire the water features. Complete with frogs, water lilies and music.
