The river is formed by the confluence of the Drac Noir and Drac Blanc streams which originate in the western part of the Massif des Écrins.

The balcony path overlooks the Romanche gorges. You can admire the bends formed by the arms of the river in the valley but also some specimens of local fauna. Open your eyes and you may see ibexes or even birds of prey that love to circle above the gorges.

Very lonely street away from the hustle and bustle. Good for road bikes. At the end of the asphalt (car park) there is a small buffet with small dishes and drinks (open on weekends in summer and daily during the holidays).

The climb to Chambaran from the Route de Pelvoux is 6.35 km long with an average gradient of 7.3%. It is a very nice climb to do because it is very calm. It's a dead end, so there's not much traffic.

The Chalet Inukshuk (alt.1024 m), with its exceptional view, is located on the edge of the gorges of the mountain river "La Durance", in Les Hautes Alpes (05), between the "Écrins National Park" and the " Regional Natural Park of Queyras". The magnificent views all around the chalet will make you find your serenity. An excellent starting point for your great adventures.

From Pelvoux you climb just over 7 kilometers to end up in the Chambran Valley. Once at the top, the landscape opens up and you cycle onto a beautiful plateau. You pass a chapel and a few cabins. Those who want can have a drink at the simple mountain hut at the end of the asphalt road. Mind you, because they don't have coffee...

In the heart of the Onde valley, the GR 54 route takes us ever deeper into these grandiose landscapes!
