A short skip and a jump from the summit/observation tower, this area provides a stunning view west over Vermont of Killington, Pico, and Okemo. You may also get lucky and see some folks launching gliders. This is a must stop location if you happen to be up on Ascutney. Don't miss it!

The Pinnacle is small, named summit on the Appalachian Trail between Pomfret and Woodstock, Vermont. Although you do not get sweeping views or significant elevation gain (the Pinnacle is 2,546 feet above sea level), the Pinnacle is still a nice destination in the attractive woods along the world-famous Appalachian Trail. Theres also ample opportunity to see wildlife like chipmunks, gray squirrels, songbirds, and amphibians like newts and salamanders.

Mount Tom stands at 1,357 in Woodstock, Vermont and is part of the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park. From the summit you get fantastic views of the town of Woodstock and the surrounding area. It is a popular destination for hikers and runners in the summer and snowshoers in the winter. This is a great place to sip some water, eat a snack, and take in the views, which are especially amazing in the fall when the leaves are changing from green to vibrant hues of yellow, orange, and red.

Trails from all directions lead to the summit of Mount Ascutney. There's a lookout tower that takes you above the trees for great views.
