This road is a treat whether you're heading up or downhill. Lake Sebago is gorgeous as well and a great place to have a water break after the climb.

Originally a small pond, Lake Welch was increased to its current size when a dam was built in 1942. It boasts the largest beach in Harriman State Park as well as multiple picnic and bbq areas.

This 256-acre lake might seem pretty shrimpy alongside the mighty Hudson River to the east, but the lake has a nice road-ride loop all the way around it, and a small jetty leading into the water.

Swing by this way for waterfront views along the west side of Lake Tappan. This stretch is largely flat with smooth pavement and limited car traffic.

Once in a state of disrepair due to vandalism and the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy, Breakneck Pond in Harriman State Park has undergone a remarkable transformation. Thanks to a $2 million investment by the Appalachian Mountain Club, the 64-acre pond now boasts a new boat launch and pristine campgrounds, offering visitors a rejuvenating experience amidst nature's splendor.

This reservoir is one of three in the area, and many would say it's the crown jewel. The water clarity is remarkable - you can see clearly all the way to the bottom in parts. As you walk around the lake, look for the flat rocks along the edges. These rocks make ideal spots to stop, and appreciate the natural beauty around you.
