Nice little hut

Unfortunately we were not able to watch because you are literally eaten by the mosquitoes.

This beautiful shelter is located on the edge of the ECR Groot Stokkert site. In the shade and with a beautiful view.

Throughout the year you will find herons, ducks and swans here. During the day you will at least encounter the blue and the great egret. Sometimes the purple heron and at the end of the day you hear the occasional bittern. The wild swan and the mallard are of course also represented here.

At the former brick factory near Windesheim, in the floodplains of the IJssel, you can find so-called tile holes and also swamps within the dike. There are two bird watching huts at the tile holes, namely De IJsvogel and De Ospred. As the name of the hut suggests, if you are lucky and patient at De IJsvogel you can indeed have a chance of seeing a kingfisher. Furthermore, you mainly see swans, all kinds of ducks and herons, including many white ones. At the end of summer and beginning of autumn, the osprey is sometimes seen here. We also spotted the white-tailed eagle once, very special!
