The Barranco do Demo Boardwalk is a spectacular wooden walkway near Alferce in the Algarve, featuring a 50-meter-long suspension bridge spanning a deep gorge. A tourist "must" if you are in Carvoeiro. Really worth seeing caves and rock formations. In May and the end of September the rush of visitors is also limited. There is a small bar, but only a few parking spaces - better to use the well-developed path (wooden planks) from Carvoeiro.

In summer 2023, a new wooden walkway with stairs and a suspension bridge was built to make this beautiful valley and great views accessible even for hikers who are not sure-footed. In summer, only recommended in the morning or evening hours - down in the valley it can be calm and very hot. Please always take something to drink with you. In the northern section there are approx. 213 (possibly +13) steps, in the southern section approx. 352 steps - a total of just over 1100 there and back. Access in the north behind the cemetery (tarmac road), in the south at the starting point of this tour recording (gravel road, only a few parking spaces).

Thief's Rock Reef - that's what it's called in Portuguese. Not far from Cabo Cavoeiro, but very well known for its formation. Here the sea has carved a huge cave into the rock. This is probably how the name can be explained: the sea steals the limestone and causes rocks to collapse again and again. So you should always be careful and not go too close to the edge of the cliff - you never know what will happen.
