Hovdala Castle is a historic castle with origins dating back to the 11th century. The current castle is a well-preserved cultural site famous for its role in 17th-century conflicts, with bullet holes still visible in its gate tower. Today, the castle is a popular visitor destination with a beautiful park, gardens, and a network of hiking trails in the surrounding Hovdala Nature Area.

There are many (more or less) beautiful sculptures in the grounds around the castle! Beauty is of course always in the eye of the beholder...

Beautiful view of Wanås Castle from the gravel road - to get here you don't have to pay an entrance fee, if you want to walk around the castle adults pay 180 SK (but you can't go into the castle itself as it is privately owned)
