At the northernmost tip of Sandsjön lies a small beach next to the hiking trail, inviting visitors to linger.

A highly recommended circular hiking trail around Storsjön, with plenty of views of the lake and beautiful paths. There are also great rest areas and barbecue spots.

In July 2024, the Vindskydd was no longer watertight. But women know how to help themselves. 😉

There are many secluded swimming areas

A super protective cover to rest or even to set up camp for a night I had a great sleep there! And there is also direct access to the lake. Just gorgeous there!

Nice little shelter with fireplace to spend the night or just get shelter from bad weather. Quite easily accessible from different sides, both on foot as with your bike. Great access to the lake for a nice cold morning swim ;-)

The Elljusspår is a local running, cycling and langlauf-ski lane on the east side of Stora Härsjön lake, which indeed is a big lake. The path runs by the waterside and is free of traffic, with some nice twists and turns. It runs back around on the land side or east side, making a full 8 figure. You can also choose to take some of the smaller paths south, but these will have you walking sooner than later unfortunately.

a few kilometers before Sandared lies this refuge with a great view over the lake Viaredssjön. Although the roof of the hut is already covered with tarpaulins, it seems to be tight. In windy weather, it is naturally a bit drafty up here. But hey, you pay the price when you wake up.
