A somewhat dated but very interestingly designed sculpture

The beautiful large sculpture is unfortunately suffering from the "ravages of time"

Would not advise the cubble stone path on the bridge for the road bike but perfect on any other bike. For the road cyclsits, the road next to it works good enough.

Two very nice bike paths

The Rhön Baron, whose real name was Friederich Kraus (1878-1955), is a historical figure in Poppenhausen, to whom a monument was erected here. He was a respected woodcutter who was also a flute player, storyteller, entertainer and simply a popular guest. Anecdotes about him are still told today. The sculpture was made in 2004 by the sculptor Elmar Baumgarten from the trunk of an elm tree.

There are still some interesting places to discover here.

It is a somewhat unusual picture: the bell tower stands separately next to the church.
