Well-preserved southern section of the old city walls. The city meanwhile grew far beyond it's original strong defenses and large road openings had to be cut next to the original narrow gates. Fortunately they have been maintained. A pleasant bike trail follows the perimeter.

Sure, THE highlight in Avignon. There's a lot of tourist rip-offs nearby. The tour in the palace can be easily done with a tablet and audio guide (free of charge!).
