Superb castle. It has been beautifully restored. We can see the different years of restoration and what a titanic job! We project ourselves according to the past centuries. The garden is very well done because it is from 1995. Bravo!

The Château de la Brégère, the centerpiece of a former agricultural estate, is a fortified house (15th century), located 7 km from Saint-Yrieix. Its appearance and its defensive elements: keep, watchtowers, gun loops, perfectly illustrate the history of a modest Limousin seigniorial dynasty. During the summer, the castle hosts exhibitions of artists.

The village and its old noble houses dominated by the imposing remains of the castle constitute a picturesque whole which makes it one of the most beautiful villages in France. Nestled in a loop of the Auvézère and protected by a rocky outcrop, Ségur is, as the toponymy indicates, a 'safe place'. From the 9th century, the construction of a castle gave it its vocation as a stronghold. The construction of two bridges, in the 13th century, allows the extension of the village on the other bank upstream and downstream of the large loop. Until 1750, Ségur was the seat of a court of appeals which received appeals from 361 seigneurial courts.
