The Saliencia Lakes are located in the heart of the Somiedo Natural Park, in the south of Asturias and almost on the border with Castilla y León. These four lakes of glacial origin (Cueva, Calabazosa, Cerveriz and Almagrera) were declared Natural Monuments and are part of the Somiedo Biosphere Reserve. The circular route through the Saliencia Lakes is quite simple and suitable for all audiences. It begins in Alto de la Farrapona, on the SD-1 highway, right at the border point between Asturias and León.

What a view. But also exhausting

The Peñarrubia Reservoir contains the waters of the Sil River. It is located on the border between León and Galicia, next to the N-536 National Highway, which runs between Ourense and Ponferrada.

Lago de Carucedo is a small town near the border of Galicia and León with a lake of the same name at the foot of the Sierra de Enciña de Lastra

A few meters from the Chao de Maseiros Viewpoint, we find this beautiful lake known as Lago Somiedo.

Along the way, we find a beautiful picture of the Laguna Larga, located near the town of Las Médulas and the Mirador de Chao de Maseiros.
