The Tajo de Cortés Waterfall is an impressive waterfall located in the Alpujarra Granadina, near the towns of Pitres and Pórtugos in Andalusia. Two routes that will take you to this beautiful waterfall: Sendero PR-A 29 from Pórtugos or the somewhat shorter Circular Route from Pitres.

This is one of the many paths you can take to go down from the top of Peñabón to Trevélez. I don't recommend it for people who have some vertigo (like me). The trail is very narrow, quite exposed and crosses a couple of ravines with loose stones that can give the impression to people who do not control their movements well at heights.

15 m waterfall on the Bermejo river, in the municipality of Pórtugos. The river is born from the confluence of the ravines of La Chorrera and El Jabali. Through waterfalls like this one, the Bermejo River bridges a 900-meter drop in just 3.5 kilometers.

From here, a narrow but clear path (unfortunately not shown on the map!) leads down into the gorge to a bridge over the Rio Trevelez and thus to the GR-142 long-distance hiking trail, which connects the two villages of Fondales (in the northwest) and El Aguadero (in the southwest) via this bridge. I couldn't mark this great trail as a section HL because Komoot doesn't tolerate it!

We start the route by leaving the car in the Barranco de San Juan car park. Right in front of the starting point we will find a restaurant, perfect for having a drink and getting some energy before leaving or to replenish it on the way back. The route is designed to be completed in 3 days: we will spend the first night in Cueva Secreta and the second, in the Laguna de la Mosca. Therefore, we will have to bring everything we will need during those days. However, the climb is demanding, so it is best not to load up too much. Note: During the route, we will pass by several rivers where we can carry water if we have a bottle with a filter or water purification tablets.

The glacial cirque of Corral del Veleta is a wild territory of the high mountains of Nevada. The path moves away from the walls to go through the circus through the rocky niches that house two small lagoons, one of which is the highest in the Sierra Nevada, at 3,090 m above sea level. The traverse follows the natural front of the old moraine and climbs the gleaming vasars of the west face of Cerro de los Machos (3,327 m), less steep than they seem from afar. The route passes through the top, a magnificent viewpoint of the main massif of the mountain range, and descends along the southwest face to connect with the Alpujarras path and completely surround the Veleta.
