Lots of breeze to get there, but good paths around it to explore.

The village and castle of Ciruela, located about 6 kilometres from Ciudad Real, are a place full of history and charm. The castle, known during the Arab domination as Hisn al Sujayrola, was part of a network of fortifications in the lower basin of the Jabalón River. Although today only ruins remain, they sit on a modest height overlooking the Jabalón Valley. The village and the castle have been the subject of archaeological and geological studies, highlighting their importance within the "Calatrava Volcanoes Geopark" project. This project seeks to protect and disseminate the natural and cultural heritage of the region.

Good trails for MTB.

There are hardly any remains of what was the castle and the church, but a beautiful landscape to get close to.

In the Park is the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Alarcos, a Gothic-style hermitage located in Alarcos, declared a Site of Cultural Interest in 1980. Gothic style and basilica in plan, a large tracery rose window opens above its door. Their pilgrimage is celebrated on Pentecost Monday.

The Alarcos hill is located on the left bank of the Guadiana River, 8 kilometers from Ciudad Real capital. Excavated since 1984, we mainly find archaeological remains that show human occupation of this space from the Bronze Age to the Middle Ages, with a long intermediate period of depopulation in Roman and Visigothic times.

In the town, the parish church, from the 18th century, and a house where Garcilaso de la Vega lived, very restored, with a coat of arms. It is the town with the smallest municipal area. The name of this municipality derives from the one used in Arabic, which in turn came from Roman times, taking it from a primitive indigenous word, and can therefore be considered one of the oldest place names in the region. In any case, it does not seem that it is exclusive to this municipality, since in the area of Los Cortijos there is an annex, stream and port of Caracuel.

Small municipality located on the road that connects Ciudad Real with Puertollano. On the so-called Mount Nogales are the remains of the castle, with a pentagonal keep and remains of a "U"-shaped wall. It is accessed by a path next to the hermitage of Santo Cristo, of popular typology.
