The lake is part of the Slattumsrøa Nature Reserve, with inflow from Lusevasan in the north and outflow to Steinbruvannet in the south. A lit trail runs along the eastern side, providing easy access from Skytta in the north and Steinbruvannet and Grorud in the south.

Very beautiful place

Tucked away in the heart of Østmarka, Mønevann is a serene lake just a short walk from Losby. It’s a perfect spot for a peaceful break along your hike. The clear water, natural shoreline, and small wooden dock make it especially popular in summer, but the area remains calm and scenic year-round.

A calm and scenic place to pause on the shore of Nøklevann. With flat rocks, benches, and space to relax, it's ideal for lunch with a view.

Quiet lake surrounded by forest: Elvåga is a peaceful spot to take a break or just enjoy the stillness.

Elvåga is a lake in Østmarka on the border between Lørenskog and Oslo municipalities. Elvåga has been used as drinking water since 1941 and supplies 10% of Oslo's population. In 1964 a 14 m high dam was built south of Turisthytte Mariholtet, separating the so-called Fri-Elvåga. In the northernmost area, separated by the dam, bathing and fishing is permitted; in the south, this is not permitted because it is used as a drinking water reservoir.

Popular place to stay the night in tent. There is some fish in the lake. Check out nearby Østmarkskapellet, there might be some consert/event going on.
