Patience and calm are instructive...

History connected to the bird watching hut 'Eeckhoven'. At this location you are standing on a historic site, where the now disappeared Eeckhoven Castle once stood. The origins of this castle were in the 12th century. Until the 17th century, the castle was an important military base. Then decline began. In the Rijkmuseum you can admire an image of Eeckhoven Castle, made in 1697 by Franz Ertinger. Now a beautiful top location for bird watchers. Enjoy what's happening in your field of vision. Every season has its own protagonists. Don't forget to close the shutters when leaving this hotspot.

A nice large viewing wall with seats. A place that attracts many viewers. A plus point about this viewing wall is that holes have been made at different heights. This way, young and old can enjoy what is happening on the water surface at the same time.

Strikingly, this viewing wall consists largely of iron elements.
