The log cabin in the Provincial Green Area De Averegten (Heist-op-den-Berg) is centrally located in 5 hectares of play forest and the natural playground 'Hobbeldonk'

Opening hours: April to October: Open daily from 9:00 AM November to March: Open Saturdays and Sundays only from 11:00 AM (Café Boswachterhuis)

At the cabin there are toilets, a large grass area and picnic benches that remain accessible. (The toilets are closed from after the autumn break until the start of the Easter break) Our cabin is located between the main parking lot and the small parking lot (plant garden).

Youth hostel with playground and terrace on the edge of the Beeltjens

Once upon a time there was a beautiful youth hostel on the edge of a forest, where an old forest ranger used to live, but where children now play, elves live and dolls can talk. The forest ranger disappeared and was succeeded by Elly, who has been running this youth hostel with heart and soul for 20 years now. Families with children, cyclists and hikers love to spend the night cheaply in this wonderful hostel. On the terrace you can enjoy yourself while the children have fun in the playground and the adventure course. If a playground alone does not convince you. Then you will find a real play forest here! Here you do not have to stay on the paths, you can build camps, climb trees, make witch's soup or sculpt with mud. Children are challenged to go completely wild. Fantasy and creativity come first. Wonderful, isn't it? The Forest Ranger's House is also the starting point of the Gravinnekespad. Even more adventure and hours of fun in the middle of nature.
