The Val Droanello and the road to Bocca Paolone are wonderful, but challenging in both directions. Uphill, there are paved sections of up to 20% and very loose sections of up to 15%, requiring excellent fitness and a very aggressive mountain bike or gravel bike. The descent requires a great deal of gravel technique.

In hot weather, a great river hike to cool off.

The Berga valley is a wonderful valley appreciated by hiking lovers, thanks to the numerous paths that cross the area. One of the main points of interest is the Berga pass, which serves as a crossroads for many hiking itineraries, such as the Mare pass, the Rosa di Baremone refuge, the Portole pass, the Pezzeda pass and the Giogo del Maniva.

First climb on asphalt along the Valvestino lake, then a dirt road along the beautiful Val Droanello, which takes the name of the stream that we find on our left. First part slightly flat then with steep and stony sections up to Bocca di Paolone.

Please avoid this path. It cost me and my girlfriend the last nerves and we are very happy to have found it out of this dangerous gorge. Sometimes it really was the case that there was no way and we had to fight our way through the jungle.

Short segment that crosses the valley floor. To continue, you can take steep and stony bends on the right or go into the woods along the stream. In both cases, MTB is highly recommended, as it is slippery.
