The Chiesa di San Martino is a historical monument in Valpromaro, a small village in Tuscany, Italy. This church dates back to the 10th-11th century and has undergone several modifications and extensions over time. The current appearance of the church dates from the early 19th century. In 1924 the church underwent new decoration and restoration, and was consecrated on May 1, 1959. The church was officially elevated to a parish in 1914.

Valpromaro is a small village in Tuscany, Italy. It is located in the province of Lucca, between Camaiore and Lucca1. One of the main attractions in Valpromaro is the Casa del Pellegrino, a historic building that now serves as a pilgrim hostel. The building, which was originally the village rectory, still retains its original appearance, with the exception of some alterations and changes to the floor. The hostel, which is open all year round, can accommodate up to 35 pilgrims.

Friendly manager. Possibility to drink a coffee. The manager himself suggested filling our drinking bottles. That was certainly welcome in that heat. Nice to catch your breath after a long climb.

On the ancient Via Francigena there is a church and a hostel for pilgrims and travellers. The Church of San Martino Vescovo dates back to at least the 12th century and was partially rebuilt in the 19th century. Near the church is also the Casa del Pellegrino, opened in 2000, where it is possible to stay overnight.
