Magical and strategic place for many excursions on the Sibillini

Refuge where you can stop to eat and rest after the excursions available in the area

The mountain tavern is a fantastic and strategic place, ideal as a base for hikers heading to Lake Pilate, on Mount Vettore, and interested in all the hiking itineraries of the Sibillini mountains. It is an excellent restaurant, where you can especially taste typical cured meats and cheeses of the area (I recommend the mixed platter, especially after a nice excursion), as well as a hotel with everything you need to stay even for a week and be comfortable. Foce, then, is an earthly paradise. Seeing is believing.

The modern bivouac is not staffed, but has an open space with 4 bed boxes. No mattresses! So if you want or have to spend the night, you better have a sleeping pad and sleeping bag with you. I wouldn't risk it on weekends but during the week of May June or late in the year it's pretty g... nice up there.

The Sibilla refuge is located at 1540 meters, the road could be closed on weekends and in August.

The Mazzaroni refuge is located at about 1725 meters, and from here you have a beautiful view towards the valley below and the Cima della Prata. The refuge itself seems a little abandoned, it is not managed, it is made of stone and it seems that it is also used as a deposit for tanks, probably used at certain times of the year as a drinking trough for pastures.
