Ponte Velina is the only masonry bridge in the whole of Val Grande. It was built in 1833 and was then destroyed by the partisans in June 1944 to hinder the invasion of the Nazi-fascist troops who, however, managed to enter Velina and rebuilt the bridge.

Incredible hiking Trail along the Pogallo River.

Spectacular gorge, surrounded by greenery: it almost has the atmosphere of a Vietnam jungle. The path that connects Cicogna to Pogallo passes halfway up the stream, offering wonderful views. Definitely recommended.

I wanted to cross the bridge from Cossogno on 7.8.19, but it was closed due to construction. How long was not noted. As an alternative, I'm off the beaten path slightly north of the next opportunity left into the gorge purely. The path is not listed on the Komoot map. There you get directly to the weir (see small reservoir with building on the map), which can be safely crossed under good conditions. On the other side, a path leads along the pipeline up to the road to Rovegro.
