Montecuccolo Castle is a wonderful and majestic well-preserved castle that is worth visiting. Its history begins at the time of Matilda of Canossa, when a family of her vassals obtained the investiture of the fiefdom in 1116 from Emperor Henry V and built a tower and a first palace on this hill at the beginning of the 12th century. After a long struggle with other local feudal lords, the Montecuccoli, who emerged victorious, expanded the fortress which took on its current appearance between the 15th and 17th centuries, with the addition of the new palace, the square tower and the podesteria. The castle offers a beautiful view of the sunset from its terrace located in the rear entrance, where the restaurant is also located. A curious fact about the castle is that it houses the highest balsamic vinegar cell in the world, at an altitude of 873 metres.

The Towers of Popiglio are in a beautiful area in the heart of the Val di Lima which is absolutely worth a visit. To reach the towers, take a short, very suggestive path, with the ridge of the Open Book always in view, which leads to the first tower. The second tower is slightly more challenging as the path descends. These structures, located above the village, were an important defensive point of the Pistoia mountains until the fifteenth century, located on the border with the Lucchese state, therefore of great strategic importance both for Pistoia and subsequently for Florence.

The Rocca di Montese is a historic fortress located on top of a hill in the municipality of Montese, in the province of Modena. Built in the 13th century, it has undergone several transformations over the centuries and has been the scene of important historical events. The panoramic view over the Panaro river valley makes it a popular tourist attraction.

Picturesque hamlet of the municipality of Sambuca Pistoiese, dominated by the remains of the castle of the same name, also known as "Castello della Selvaggia". Perched on a high ridge from which it dominates the Limentra valley, the castle was for a long time a strategic outpost guarding the Via Francesca della Sambuca, an important road link between Pistoia and the Po Valley. Here it is possible to admire the remains of the fortress, located at the highest point of the fortifications, including remains of the layout of the walls and the soaring tower of the keep, preserved for a third of its original height, which exceeded 20 meters.
