The River House overlooks the banks of the Santerno River, in the municipality of Borgo Tossignano (BO). It is located in a property owned by CON.AMI and managed by the Romagna Parks and Biodiversity Management Agency. It comprises a front office, a multipurpose classroom, and 3 hectares of floodplain meadows, which, starting in March 2024, will include new educational and nature-related facilities. The facilities include panels dedicated to the park's environments and its biodiversity, with particular emphasis on birds and mammals. There is also an outdoor classroom for outdoor education activities and a xylotheque dedicated to the tree species found in the floodplain area. The meadow area is equipped with tables, children's games, themed trails, and a multipurpose classroom capable of hosting courses, conferences, seminars, and events for up to 50 people. The Visitor Center is an information point for the Vena del Gesso Romagnola Park and the Santerno Valley. Its activities are linked to the study and dissemination of the river ecosystem, through workshops focused on life in the waters and nature and environmental education activities for various audiences. A street that allows you to undertake various bike routes: • Climb to Vespignano (taking via Castelnuovo after a few bends) • Climb to Monte Mauro (via Monte Mauro before reaching Zattaglia) • Bitella climb (when you reach Zattaglia, turn left) • Take Val Sintria (when you reach Zattaglia, turn left then immediately right onto via Molino Boldrino), from here there are various alternatives, including the climb up via Cavina and the climb up the dirt road to Croce Daniele. Both of these last two solutions intersect the CAI 505 path, which can be traveled on gravel and MTB. • Montalbano climb

The Cà Carnè refuge and visitor center offers the opportunity to eat and stay in the greenery of the Tuscan-Romagnolo Apennines. Furthermore, it is an ideal place for those who want to spend their free time in contact with nature: there are many possibilities here, including trekking, mountain bike trails and horseback riding. The Cà Carnè refuge is surrounded by the greenery of the Vena del Gesso Romagnola regional park. The bivouac is a beautiful place to stop to regain strength before finishing the route, completely immersed in nature. But know that dormice are the masters, that is their home! So unless you are happy to know them and share every single space with them (even what you thought was yours), I recommend spending only daylight hours there.

Next to the historic structure of the "Rifugio Ca 'Carnè" visitor center, the "Scout Base" is also active and accessible. The scout base is located just 150 meters from the visitor center and is surrounded by a coniferous forest on the edge of a beautiful natural sinkhole.
