The castle: with a triangular plan and three circular towers, it stands on the promontory, fitting itself as a vertex into the interior of the ancient village, while the base extends out of the inhabited nucleus, as an advanced fortification on the hilly side with the gentlest slope and more exposed to assaults. Around the walls of the castle there is a wide and deep moat, now distinguishable on the side towards the village, while the difference in height on the eastern side has almost disappeared due to agricultural work and land subsidence over the centuries. The castle has the appearance it assumed after the renovations of the Aragonese period (15th century AD) which must have considerably enlarged the original triangular-shaped structure. The interior of the castle is occupied by the parade ground and by buildings leaning against the northern and eastern sides.
