A few km from the arrival at Rifugio Sapienza, about 200m lower, after climbs of 14-17% going up from Milia

On the site there is both the refuge and a mini bivouac of approximately 8 m2 where there is also a fireplace. In the area there is also a woodshed and a well with a manual cast iron pump. The area is currently under renovation and there is an excellent view of both the central craters and the east Sicilian coast. Good connection.

Refuge equipped with an equipped area. There is no fountain for drawing water. The cistern 100 meters to the W is closed with a bolt. Following the path to the north you can admire a splendid panorama.

Bivouac of about 10 m2. Small but essential: inside there is a table with a bench and a fireplace. Outside there is a woodshed and a manual water pump (not drinkable). The bivouac is currently in excellent condition, recently renovated. Surrounded by pine trees... watch out for the processionary moth

For access you must make a request to the state property. From the refuge you can observe a spectacular panorama of the southern side of Etna. If there is not much humidity it is possible to observe the coast up to Augusta

In this area it is possible to have a picnic, relax and enjoy the view. The refuge is not open but, with prior authorization, it is possible to stay overnight inside. In addition there are some points where you can also make a Bbq

the refuge of monte gemellaro can be visited and used in all seasons there is also a nice table and a fireplace inside

Forestry refuge not open to the public. Possibility of refreshment at its tables positioned under the chestnut trees.
