The Nischiuarch Alpine Hut is located in a beautiful grassy valley west of the mountain of the same name. Located at just under 1,200 meters above sea level, it is a convenient base at the eastern end of the long Musi mountain range. Completely renovated, the hut consists of two buildings: the one that is always open has a ground-floor room with a stove, table, bench, and adjoining cellar, while upstairs there are a couple of bed frames with mattresses. It can be reached from S. Anna di Carnizza in about an hour, or via CAI trail no. 739, Passo Tanamea, in the municipality of Lusevera, S.S. 646, in about an hour and a half. Useful Information - Water: Non-potable, but available depending on seasonal weather conditions - Beds: 6 - Wood-burning stove, some dishes, small pantry with basic necessities - Firewood: A small supply is available at the facility or easily found in the surrounding woods The facility also has 14 additional beds in the area reserved for recognized institutions and associations. Beautiful walk to do with children too.

An artificial lake not suitable for swimming but immersed in greenery, Lake Verzegnis originates from the waters of the Ambiesta stream and is located in a remote but beautiful corner of Carnia. It is full of trout, so it is not uncommon to see people intent on fishing.

Green and serene. Certainly a beautiful spot, especially slowly rolling over the bridge on a bicycle. Might be recommended to turn around and cycle the main road if you are heading up Sella Chianzutan since the roads leading up from the lake are incredibly steep.

The area around the lake is always windy until mid-morning.

A turquoise interlude in the woods of the Tolmezzo Prealps: Lake Verzegnis. The artificial basin, created from the Ambiesta stream, was created in the 1950s and is located in the mountains of the municipality of Verzegnis. Its location, far from the main traffic routes, allows you to immerse yourself in nature and the silence of this area of Carnia. Due to the peculiarity of its waters, used mainly for hydroelectric purposes, the lake is not suitable for bathing, but can still be enjoyed by strolling along the banks towards the large dam or thanks to relaxing moments with the fishing rod while waiting for one of the many trout present to bite! Several routes run along the lake shore and are designed for MTB enthusiasts or for those who, attracted by a not too distant past, want to stroll through the alleys of the towns of Fuignis and Pusea, now abandoned villages that have preserved the charm of yesteryear. In Pusea you will come across a sign that says: "Welcome to Pusea, the land of enchantment that no one leaves without regret".
