Strategic area as a starting point for many trails

Monte Sojo (in the Vicenza dialect) or Soglio (in Italian) is a large rocky spur 700m above sea level. The summit offers a wide panorama of the Alto Vicentino, the Pedemontana, the entrance to the Val Leogra and the Piccole Dolomiti that surround it: Pasubio, Novegno and Summano. Precisely because of its dominant position and the view it offers, during the First World War it was integrated into the defensive line of Ortogonale 1: after the offensive of 1916, when the danger of an Austro-Hungarian advance towards the plain became concrete, it became a stronghold with numerous loopholes, observation posts and positions for light weapons dug into the rock.

The summit of Civillina is wide, grassy and very panoramic with a wide view of the Vicenza and Trentino Prealps, today unfortunately covered by clouds and mist. There are also numerous trenches and other very well preserved or recovered war artefacts. The Mount Enna cross is located on a panoramic balcony with a breathtaking view of the upper Leogra Valley and the Little Dolomites that crown it: from left to right, the Carega, the Sengio Alto mountain range with Mount Cornetto, the Pian delle Fugazze pass, and the Pasubio massif. P.S.: The highest point of Mount Enna is actually on the opposite side, a 5-minute walk away, at the Great War Observatory (975 meters above sea level), which overlooks the Novegno and Tretto Plateau.

Slightly challenging climb, more from the Valdagno side where the slope is more noticeable, however nothing impossible

The cross of Mount Enna is the symbol of the mountain in the municipality of Torrebelvicino, and is positioned so as to be visible from the road that goes up from Poleo to Santa Caterina. It is located near the Enna fort, a ruin that bears witness to the war events of the First World War.

Excellent place to cool off after an excursion, several paths start from there, there is no shortage of parking next to the restaurant.
