The Priamar Fortress dominates the port of Savona. It was built by the Republic of Genoa in the 16th century and its name apparently derives from the dialect "pria a' mà", or "stone on the sea". Today it is home to an archaeological museum and the Pertini Museum, dedicated to the famous President of the Republic Sandro Pertini, a native of the province of Savona.

Priamar Fortress of Savona is an important military complex that dominates the city center near the port.

Ancient castle now abandoned and in ruins dating back to the XIII century and belonged to the Doria family.

Bastia Soprana is a ruined castle, built in the second half of the 13th century by Branca Doria, on the hill east of the historic center of Sassello, in the province of Savona. Today, a few ruins remain, including a circular tower, surrounded by the greenery of the Apennines.
